AR and VR refers to Augmented reality and Virtual reality, respectively. Augmented Reality is an advanced technology which enables superimposition of computer-generated images over an existing, real-world view. Morton Heilig achieved this technology in 1957. It has reached numerous industry sectors. AR came into the mainstream in the 1990s. It came into reality with the application of scrimmage and virtual first-down lines in live football matches on television.
AR and VR are not the same.
A computer-generated simulation by which a human can interact within an artificial 3-D environment using electronic devices is termed as Virtual reality.
